The cost of avoidance
Avoided tasks do not disappear. They wait, and they take attention daily.
The idea
Avoided tasks do not disappear. They wait, and they take a little of your attention every day.
Why it matters
Avoidance offers short-term relief at long-term cost. Naming what you are avoiding, and why, often removes half its power.
The shift
From "I'll deal with it later" to "I'll name it, size it, and take the first step."
Try this today
Write a list of things you have been avoiding and choose one. Write what you fear about it. Then write the smallest action that would reduce that fear.
Reflection question
What am I avoiding, and what is that avoidance costing me?
Write your answerPart of: Build discipline, Stop procrastinating
Keep going
Motion before motivation
Action, even small and clumsy, produces the feeling you were waiting for.
Question your story
A story you believe becomes a rule you follow. Check that it is true.
Separate facts from stories
"He didn't reply" is a fact. "He's ignoring me" is a story.
