Question your story
A story you believe becomes a rule you follow. Check that it is true.
The idea
We all carry stories about ourselves: "I'm not a morning person," "I always give up," "I'm bad with money." Some are true. Many are habits of language that have never been examined.
Why it matters
A story you believe becomes a rule you follow. If the story is inaccurate, you are obeying a rule you never agreed to.
The shift
From treating your stories as facts to treating them as hypotheses.
Try this today
Write down one story you repeat about yourself. List three times it was not true. Then rewrite it as a more accurate sentence.
Reflection question
Which story about myself have I never questioned?

Choose who you are this week
Goals describe what you do. Identity describes who you are while you do it.
Separate facts from stories
"He didn't reply" is a fact. "He's ignoring me" is a story.
What would you tell a friend?
You can hold high standards and still be on your own side.
